Meet the young entrepreneur behind one of the North West’s busiest wedding event firms
Entrepreneur Hannah Lomas is looking to achieve further growth in her wedding fayre business, having already increased its event lineup by 300% in just six years.
Hannah launched Red Event Wedding Fayres in 2011 after graduating from Liverpool John Moores University with a degree in event management.
The company started out doing two events per year, but now handles between eight and 10 annually.
For 2018, Red Event confirmed its itinerary is already full, with fayres taking place at Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel & Spa in Chester, Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa, Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port Cheshire Oaks and Brook Mollington Banastre Hotel & Spa in Chester over the coming months.
Hannah said: “When I was at university, I had a work placement with a bridal magazine and they offered me a part time job doing admin, sales and attending wedding fayres giving out their magazine and registering brides.
“Once I graduated, I worked volunteering for various events and eventually after gaining experience, I quickly realised that I was passionate about organising events.”
She continued: “I decided to set up my own business organising wedding fayres and offering newly engaged couples the ultimate wedding shopping experience and I haven’t looked back!
“2018 is a great opportunity for us to capitalise on our reputation and what we’ve achieved by expanding the business in other areas, seeking larger venues in the process whilst retaining our unique selling points and our business ethos.”
