West Yorkshire Manufacturer Exports to Israel With Help From Chamber International

A West Yorkshire manufacturing business has exported its first products to the Middle East with help from overseas trade specialist, Chamber International.

Beechfield Acoustics, Bingley, has delivered its first consignment of silencers for blowers used in pneumatic conveying to a company in Haifa, Israel, for its own use and to supply to other businesses in the country.

Founded by director, Neil Durham, a mechanical engineer, in 2013, after he worked as an engineering manager for several large businesses, Beechfield Acoustics designs and manufactures industrial noise control equipment to enable companies to comply with health and safety legislation.

Neil Durham, who was awarded a first-class degree in mechanical engineering at Bradford University and later gained an acoustics and noise control diploma at Leeds Beckett University, designs and manufactures a wide range of noise control products.

Beechfield Acoustics’ products include reactive filter silencers, reactive silencers, absorptive silencers, acoustic enclosures and noise barriers designed and manufactured in-house and also using local engineering companies in West Yorkshire.

The company’s products are used throughout the UK by businesses in sectors including pharmaceutical, chemical, food, oil refinery, healthcare, animal feeds, textiles, engineering, wood waste and recycling, enabling companies to protect their staff and nearby residents from excessive noise created by industrial processes using loud compressors, blowers or fans.

Neil Durham says: “My contact in Haifa came through a mutual friend and I’ve exported a first consignment of inlet filter and exhaust reactive and blow off absorptive silencers. It was helpful to work with Chamber International, they have so much experience and their advice saved me a lot of time. It is an added bonus that they are just down the road.

“UK engineering products are highly regarded overseas, including The Middle East, and I’m now going to focus my efforts in developing further sales there and in Europe as my expertise enables me to create bespoke noise control solutions to solve different problems. As a small business, I can also give a better personal service – even overseas - and can be highly competitive on costs.”

Chamber International director, Tim Bailey, says: “Beechfield Acoustics is exactly the type of innovative, high-skilled business that the UK needs to start exporting and we are pleased to be supporting Neil Durham.”
