104-year-old Wirral timber agents celebrate £7m turnover
North West timber company Hunt Brothers has grown its turnover to £7m.
The company was founded on the Wirral in 1913 and today processes more than 10,000 tonnes in annual timber orders.
Hunt Brothers, a selling representative for overseas mills seeking to export timber products to the UK, said it has seen 20% growth in sales over the last 10 years.
The firm attributed part of its success to its 65-year long trade credit insurance partnership with insurance company Euler Hermes, which covers it against non-payment from its business partners.
Hunt Brothers exports from seven countries, with a focus on Europe, North America and Asia.
Geoff Hilditch, hardwood timber products director at Hunt Brothers, said: “We’ve enjoyed a long period of success. Our partnership with Euler Hermes has been essential in helping us secure the quality timber our customers need when global availability is at a premium.”
Euler Hermes broker account manager Mark Styles commented: “As one of our most durable client relationships it is a pleasure to see Hunt Brothers continue to thrive a challenging industry.
“Our specially-tailored insurance policy and supporting research and analysis provides Hunt Brothers and its partners with a trusted route to market and enables the company to grow its global footprint.”
