Yorkshire business to create 50 jobs with new £1.6m restaurant in Manchester

Yorkshire leisure operator Arc Inspirations is expanding its footprint across the Pennines with a new restaurant bar in Manchester.

The company will create 50 full- and part-time jobs by investing £1.6m in its second Banyan Bar & Kitchen in the city.

The venue will be located within a 7,000 sq ft space in Spinningfields and comprise 230 covers.

Architecture firm KPP is creating the look in collaboration with Manchester-based designers No Chintz.

Opening Summer 2018, the new Banyan Bar & Kitchen will be Arc’s eighth site in the North of England.

CEO Martin Wolstencroft said: “Following the announcement last month that we are bringing our shamelessly glamorous Manahatta brand to Manchester, it felt only natural that we secured a second Banyan Bar & Kitchen.

“The success of our Corn Exchange venue and increased demand for the brand has meant we can branch Banyan across the North of England and beyond.”

Martin continued: “We’ve worked with contemporary designers No Chintz who are elevating and reforming the Banyan brand to take it to the next level. Guests will see a real difference compared with Corn Exchange, and we know Banyan is going to ooze sophistication and be a fantastic addition to the vibrant Spinningfields area.

“Our rapid expansion within Manchester continues to reinforce our reputation and position as pioneers of innovating drinking and dining experiences in the North of England. We’re set for a phenomenal year of growth.”
