Interiors firm chosen for new boutique hotel near Trafalgar Square
Willmott Dixon Interiors is set to deliver an upmarket boutique hotel in central London.
The company was selected to transform a five-storey office block near Trafalgar Square into St Martins Place Hotel.
The project will create a 136-room venue at 7-8 Martins Place that features a fifth floor restaurant and additional sixth level with a rooftop bar.
St Martins Place Hotel will also have retail space at its basement and ground floor levels, retaining the existing onsite Post Office.
Best Effort Ventures is the property firm behind the development, which was designed by EPR Architects.
Originally built in the 1950s as a mix of retail and office space, 7-8 Martins Place adjoins the Grade II-listed St Martin’s Vicarage, Vestry and School.
Graham Shaw, managing director of Willmott Dixon Interiors, said: “We have a solid track-record in office to hotel conversions, especially in towns and cities, with an experienced team who know the particular challenges this work entails.
“This is also another big investment in London as one of the world’s top destinations for visitors and we’re proud to be playing our part in stimulating further growth for our capital.”
