Coventry is a hot bed for business growth

Earlier this month, we were delighted along with the rest of Coventry and Warwickshire to welcome the news that Coventry has been named the UK’s City of Culture for 2021. It’s great to get some good news and an opportunity to boost the local economy, tourism, access to the arts and civic pride.

We know from an early survey by the bid team that 80 per cent of residents supported the bid, and around 150 businesses gave the bid financial support, which could well have differentiated Coventry from the other cities on the shortlist.

While the support for the city’s bid from the business community has been unparalleled, there was more good news this month from the Barclays SME Growth Factors Index which placed Coventry as the third best place in the UK to start a business due to favourable conditions for growth.
