North East LEP delegate joins County Durham manufacturer to 'drive growth'
A manufacturing specialist, David Land has joined Ebac to drive further growth at the County Durham-based electrical goods manufacturer.
It is the only British company to produce washing machines, dehumidifiers and water coolers in the UK. David’s remit is to work with the senior management team to deliver a business plan that will facilitate further growth across the product range.
With 27 years of experience in business development, David Land is the chairman of the County Durham Engineering and Manufacturing Network (CDEMN). He is also on the board of the North East LEP.
John Elliott, executive chairman at Ebac, said: “We are very proud to have invested in new product development over the last few years, which has also seen us launch washing machines.
“We will continue to innovate and invest in new and existing products, embrace the opportunities that leaving the EU will bring and continue to fly the flag for British manufacturing.
“David’s role will be to focus on the delivery of our strategy that will fulfil Ebac’s growth potential and achieve the trustees’ aims.”
David has spent his career in the automotive sector where he guided a local company into a major industry player.
Using his extensive experience, he is now actively involved with many business groups to promote and support the growth of manufacturing in the North East.
He also mentors businesses in the region and was one of the founder members of the region’s first University Technical College.
David Land said: “Ebac is an innovative and forward-thinking company and this role takes me back to my manufacturing roots.
“The Ebac Foundation trustees’ focus is on trading and development for the future and generating profits to be reinvested into the business, its employees and the community.
“I am looking forward to supporting John and working with the team at Ebac as the company continues to grow, expands into new products and markets and remains a major contributor to the local economy.”
