One of North West’s ‘most iconic buildings’ set for £38m makeover
Styles & Wood Group plc has secured a multi-million pound contract to overhaul ‘one of the most iconic buildings in the North West’.
The Sale-headquartered property services firm will fit out and refurbish the Grade II-listed India Buildings in Liverpool.
Shelborn Asset Management awarded the contract, which is set to boost Styles & Wood’s revenues by £38.25m, following a two-stage tender process.
The 72-week project will include the provision of office space, remedial works and external repairs.
Once complete, the building will be leased to current occupier HMRC for use as a ‘supercentre’.
Styles & Wood chief exec Tony Lenehan said: “We are delighted to have won the contract to deliver this major refurbishment and fit out project for Shelborn Asset Management and are confident that we can contribute to the creation of an exciting state of the art workplace environment for HMRC.
“India Buildings is one of the most iconic buildings in the North West and will provide an important contribution to the Government’s National Hubs Programme.”
He added: “It is testament to our unique skills and capabilities in that we are able to support this national programme at a strategic level.”
