Manchester investment firm moves HQ to Spinningfields

Investment firm The Blackmore Group has established a new HQ for its growing team in Manchester’s Spinningfields district.

The company relocated its 16-strong workforce from 2 Mount Street in the city centre to the first floor of the 65,000 sq ft XYZ building.

The office is part of the XYZ Works & Social community for innovators and disruptors in the technology, media, digital and creative sectors.

Patrick McCreesh, Blackmore’s managing director, said there is space at the new, larger premises for the company’s London team when they visit Manchester.

He said: “The Blackmore Group is constantly growing, with the recent addition of in-house architect Chris Brown-Colbert to help the real estate team.

“We moved to 2 Mount Street from Albion Wharf last March, but quickly outgrew that space. Our new base can accommodate more staff and places us in the heart of the fintech and financial services communities of Manchester.”

Patrick founded Blackmore in 2013 alongside business partner Phillip Nunn. Today, the firm has £25m of assets under management, offering investors a suite of products across multiple asset classes aimed at individuals and institutions in the UK and overseas.

OBI Property is the leasing consultant for XYZ.

Joe Averill, of OBI Property, commented: “We are delighted to welcome another forward-thinking occupier to XYZ Works & Social who are committed to investing in their working environment.”

Blackmore took the office on a two-year lease.
