Revolutionary weight loss programme trains your mind and body

A LEADING weight management expert has launched a programme which can help people say goodbye to yo-yo dieting forever.

Dr Aria, a behaviour change psychologist based in the North East but with clients across the UK, has used his years of scientific research to devise a plan which gives people the skills they need to lose weight – and keep it off.

The doctor, who spent years researching weight loss maintenance while at the prestigious University College London, first became aware of the problems while working in the NHS.

“I was seeing patients who were dealing with a range of issues from anxiety to depression to coping with terminal illness,” said Dr Aria, who also worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

“I realised the way people felt about themselves and what they did everyday was greatly influenced by their self-perception and that was also the case for people who wanted to lose weight.”

The doctor – who has worked with everyone from leading sportsmen to Hollywood actresses – has used scientific-based studies into the best ways to maintain weight loss as the basis of his programme.

“Any diet will work in the short-term,” he said.

“People lose weight and start to feel better about themselves. But then they realise that the diet isn’t sustainable, have an emotional set back or lose motivation. Not only does the weight go back on, but they regain more than they lost.”

The centre of Dr Aria’s F.I.T. – Focused Integrative Training – programme looks at people’s mindset and their emotional attachment to food and weight loss, transforming the way they eat and developing new, positive habits around eating and exercise.

The system helps train the minds as well as the bodies of those who take part, leading to sustainable success.

“My goal now is to help as many people as possible to better understand their own mindset, achieve their personal health, body and performance goals, and lead a life that they love,” he said.

Currently the 12 week training programme is available on a one-to-one basis with a number of individual sessions and a direct “hotline” for support if necessary.

Dr Aria is also working on the creation of an app, which will mean the F.I.T. plan will be available to a wide audience who can benefit from the revolutionary approach to losing and maintaining weight.
