Lancashire’s AA Access expands with Scottish acquisition

AA Access Ltd has expanded into Scotland with the acquisition of vehicle-mounted access platform supplier Outreach Access.

AA Access, part of BGF-backed High Access Maintenance Group, said the deal means it can now meet any working-at-height customer requirements in the UK.

All 13 employees of Falkirk-based Outreach will transfer over to AA Access, including an operations manager, sales manager and in-house engineer.

High Access group CEO Niel Bethell, who founded the company in 2005, said: “We set out with ambitious plans to grow our business through strategic acquisitions. Outreach Access is the ideal addition for the High Access group of companies.

“The highly complementary acquisition provides us with significantly increased geographic coverage, which will enhance our market-leading offering.”

He added: “We stand apart from the rest of the industry because we directly employ our teams and own our machinery. This deal grows our fleet and capabilities, perfectly positioning us for further growth.”

Andrew O’Mahony of Brabners provided legal advice for BGF. Law firm Hill Dickinson’s Ian Gillis and James Down advised the High Access management team.

AA Access’ fleet ranges from 10m machines to the 100m Ruthmann TTS, which is currently the highest platform available in the world.

Altrincham-based High Access acquired the business last autumn.
