Parkeon Transportation Grows Dorset Footprint to Meet Global Demand
Parkeon Transportation, one of the world’s leading technology providers to the public transport industry, is expanding its Dorset operations to meet growing global demand for its innovative transport systems.
The award-winning company is adding a new 17,500 sq ft manufacturing centre at Holton Heath to its existing Poole facility as it ramps up production for advanced ticketing technologies destined for public transport networks on every continent.
“This investment comes at a time of significant growth for Parkeon, driven by increasing demand for our technologies in the UK, continental Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia Pacific,” said Owen Griffith, Managing Director of Parkeon Transportation.
“Our confidence comes from employing some of the best engineers in the world and seeing the results of their innovation day-in, day-out, in systems that improve the performance of public transport operators and make travel easier for citizens.”
The company’s retailing, ticketing, real time information, analytics and fleet management solutions are central to the future plans of many of the world’s public transport scheme owners and operators. Indeed, Parkeon was recently awarded the UK’s biggest rail contract since privatisation for self-service retail systems.
Parkeon solutions help operators to optimise revenues, while encouraging consumers out of their cars onto more environmentally-friendly means of public transport. All this is delivered through a commitment to continuous innovation that has been the hallmark of the multi-award winning company for over 40 years.
The company employs over 240 people in Dorset and over 1,000 people worldwide, with facilities in mainland Europe, USA and Australia, as well as the UK.
