Europa’s Fourth Annual Management Conference Sets Pace for 2018
Managers and Directors from across Europa Worldwide Group’s 12 sites, from Hong Kong to Glasgow, came together to celebrate the business’s exceptional growth in 2017 and cement strategy for 2018 at its fourth annual Senior Management Conference.
Held in the middle of the country, near Doncaster, the conference saw Directors from the business’s four divisions – Road, Air & Sea, Showfreight and Warehouse – present their successes over the last 12 months to more than 50 managers with the theme ‘Bigger, Better, Bolder’ for 2018.
Managing Director of Europa Andrew Baxter recapped 2017 and revealed his plans for 2018. He said: “We’re delighted with the level of organic growth we’ve seen in 2017, which now stands at 25% with the company now broadly double the size it was when we acquired it in 2013.
“I firmly believe that we’ve achieved such sweeping success because we have constantly kept moving. We never stand still and we don’t fear change – from rolling out our own in-house developed IT system, to embarking on the acquisition trail, to recruiting the very best people in the business, we always have our eyes on growth.
“In the near future we aim to complete two acquisitions in our Road business and one in Air & Sea, as well as developing our operations in Asia with new branches. Our overall goal is to achieve 15% more organic growth this year as well as to push through the £200m turnover milestone. Our strategy is all about driving long term profitability, improving our competitiveness every week, driving down costs to our customers and driving up quality.
“It was great to bring all the managers from across the business together to congratulate them for their hard work to date and share the Board’s growth plans in detail with them in person.”
The conference was also used to kick start the fund-raising for one of Europa’s 2018 charity initiatives – raising £16,000 for a new children’s playground at Darent Valley Hospital near Europa’s headquarters in Dartford. Attendees were asked to donate cash for their breakfast bacon butties and suggest fund raising ideas for the cause.
Europa Worldwide Group employs 650 people across 11 sites in the UK plus Hong Kong and is represented in 100 countries.
