Upcoming nutrition app to make healthy eating ‘easier than ever before’
A nutrition app that takes a user’s stats and health goals to locate healthy meals nearby is about to launch.
Nutrifix will aim to cut out the fuss around eating healthily by providing detailed nutritional information on thousands of meals from both high street chains and independents.
It will also show users where they can find suitable meals close by, giving them the option of either following a map or having food delivered by Deliveroo.
The company was founded by CEO Joel Burgess, whose own experience of losing weight gave him the idea for Nutrifix.
In November 2016, Nutrifix was among the first startups that joined the Just Eat Food Tech Accelerator programme, through which the online food order company committed a £20k investment in the app.
This was followed by a £200k fundraise through crowdfunding platform Crowdcube in March last year.
Today, Nutrifix has over 5,000 users and a database comprising information on nearly 5,000 meals from more than 9,000 locations and 90 vendors, among them Nando’s and Sainsbury’s.
Joel said: “In our opinion, current nutrition apps are either retrospective or require a large amount of planning and organisation.
“Nutrifix is designed to be quick and easy to use – it makes personalised meal suggestions to make or buy, and now with the in-built delivery feature eating healthy, nutritious food is easier than ever before.”
He continued: “One day we believe Nutrifix will be attractive proposition to a range of acquirers from trade and sports brands to gyms and medical groups – but for now, we just can’t wait to offer our unique service to like-minded, health-conscious individuals throughout the UK.”
Nutrifix will officially launch on March 7.
