Cheshire architects establish Liverpool waterfront base
Calderpeel Architects is expanding with a new base in Liverpool.
The Altrincham-headquartered company has established a team at Avenue HQ, part of the Mann Island complex.
The office is led by local architects Patrick Taft and Adam Granby, who will focus on city centre residential projects.
Calderpeel MD Ewen Miller said: “Liverpool is a city known for doing things differently and that’s the ethos of our firm too.
“We believe we have something unique to offer and want to work with developers and the local authority to assist in the city’s ongoing regeneration.”
He added: “In particular, we feel we can bring our experience of working at the top-end of the private residential market to some of the higher-density developments and apartment schemes.”
Patrick Taft commented: “We will offer clients big ideas and a high-quality service. We’ve been planning this move for some time and we’ve done our research.
“I’m from Liverpool and I live in the city centre. Adam is from Widnes and we both went to university in Liverpool. We understand the city, its people and development landscape.”
Adam Granby said: “With RIBA North recently locating here and other national and international practices also having a presence, the city’s architecture scene is booming.
“We feel we have a role to play in complementing and adding to the expertise already here.”
The Liverpool expansion follows the company’s Manchester office launch six months ago.
Calderpeel, which has additional offices in Sheffield and Surrey, employs 30 people.
