Ponteland village to receive over 60 new homes
Plans to build 62 new family homes near Ponteland, Northumberland are now set to go ahead.
Following the finalisation of a Section 106 agreement, housebuilder, Bellway is to begin the development of four and five-bedroom homes at the site, in Medburn.
Bellway was supported by expert planning and design consultancy, Barton Willmore in securing consent for the scheme.
Northumberland County Council’s planning committee has approved of Bellway’s plans for the 15.8 acre site, within the settlement of Medburn, and west of Darras Hall Village.
The new development is said to feature areas of landscaped open space.
Martyn Earle, associate planner at Barton Willmore, concluded: “This is a brilliant scheme for Medburn, and will provide important family homes for this part of Northumberland.
“Housing is much needed here, and Bellway’s vision for a sustainable development that fits with the surrounding area will provide just that.”
