Merthyr shop’s World Cancer Day fundraising beats every other CRUK store’s total

The Cancer Research UK (CRUK) shop in St Tydfil Shopping Centre is thanking the Merthyr community for helping it to raise the most amount of money by any CRUK shop nationally as part of its World Cancer Day activities.

The aim of World Cancer Day, which took place on Sunday 4th February, was to unite people in the fight against cancer and the store raised £5,476 through donations and the sale of the charity’s unity bands.

Adam Carsley, Store Manager at Cancer Research UK in St Tydfil Shopping Centre, commented:“A huge thank you to everyone who supported our World Cancer Day fundraising activities and helped us raise a fantastic amount of money. Every penny goes into funding research to fight over 200 cancer types.”

Julie Calderbank, Operations Manager at St Tydfil Shopping Centre, added: “Congratulations to the Cancer Research UK store for raising the most amount of money for World Cancer Day out of all other UK stores; it’s certainly testament to the enormous generosity of the Merthyr community.”
