Catering operator SSP brings Sip & Stone concept to Belfast Airport
Catering and retail unit operator SSP is opening a restaurant-bar at Belfast International Airport.
The concept, Sip & Stone, will feature a menu focusing on local dishes, recipes and ingredients along with a drinks list comprising international beers, wines and spirits.
Sip & Stone also has an in-house bakery that will serve cakes, muffins and sandwiches.
SSP, headquartered in London, operates food and beverage brands in travel locations around the world.
Simon Smith, the firm’s CEO for the UK and Ireland, said: “SSP has innovated this space from a traditional food village, to a modern concept, with an environment that is in tune with the needs of the aspirational customer.
“In the development, we’ve worked closely with the airport to underscore Belfast’s culture and culinary traditions.”
Belfast International Airport MD Graham Keddie commented: “Belfast International Airport is in an exciting phase of growth with over six million passengers expected to travel through the airport in 2018.
“It is essential to provide facilities that meet the growing needs of our leisure and business customers and we are pleased that SSP has invested in these new facilities.”
He added: “I’m sure passengers will enjoy sampling some iconic culinary delights that will be on offer at Sip & Stone.”
