FSC Oceans Drops Anchor in London

A new, privately-owned freight forwarding business with aspirations to hit the £10m turnover milestone in just a few years has started trading from its headquarters in London.

FSC Oceans is a start-up, based on Fulham High Street, led by Managing Director Shatha Aziz who is heading up a team of logistics experts with more than 100 years’ experience of their industry between them.

Moving to the UK from Iraq in 2016, Shatha brought with her 15 years’ experience providing multinational businesses with bespoke logistics solutions. She’d already consulted her network in the UK and decided there was a gap in the market for a new start-up, so set about recruiting her team to launch FSC Oceans.

Commercial Director Alan Hewitt, Operations Manager Steve Tumber, General Manager Salem Haifi and Account Supervisor Soraya Benouda, overseen by Shatha, recently moved into their new offices from where they will create and implement tailored, streamlined logistics solutions that deliver reliability and efficiency into their customers’ supply chains.

Shatha said: “I’m very proud to have seized the opportunity to launch my own business in the UK and thrilled with the expertise, flair and dedication of the team I’ve built around me. Our culturally diverse make-up is one of our key strengths and between us we have worked across a broad spectrum of industry sectors, including automotive, FMCG, industrial, oil & gas, high tech, retail, drinks logistics and marine logistics.

“We will work with customers in these sectors, of all sizes and complexity, building long-term relationships and setting up exclusive contracts with the world’s leading air, sea and road carriers thanks to our exceptional contacts and the long standing relationships we have across the globe. I’m very excited for the future and to drive FSC Oceans forward towards our goal of hitting the £10m turnover mark within the next few years.”

Commercial Director at FSC Oceans, Alan Hewitt, has more than 28 years’ experience in international logistics, having previously worked for both Kuehne + Nagel and RH Freight.

He added: “A major part of our skill set and expertise at FSC Oceans is our shared experience of tried and tested methods of evaluating and streamlining supply chains, with the end goal of providing each customer with a dedicated, value-drive solution. We will pride ourselves on becoming an extension of our customers’ businesses because we fully appreciate that our performance directly impacts upon their reputation and success.

Launching its new website this month (March), FSC Oceans will offer a broad spectrum of services from traditional freight forwarding to supply chain consultation. The business is currently recruiting for two Business Development Managers who will be based at its London headquarters and tasked with growing FSC Oceans’ client base.
