A canny time ahead in Cannes – Space Group’s CEO Rob Charlton will attend MPIM conference in the south of France

Space Group’s CEO Rob Charlton will be attending the annual MPIM conference in Cannes with Newcastle City Council, Invest Newcastle and over thirty North East private sector delegates with one aim – to promote Newcastle as a place of opportunity that is ripe for investment.

The North East representatives will pull together at the event to promote the region with a pledge to create 14,000 new jobs, 19,000 new homes and an overhaul of the current transport system in the city centre and beyond over the next ten years.

MIPIM runs from the 13th – 16th March and is a four day real-estate exhibition, conference and networking event with over 24,000 property professionals attending from around the world. With so much to offer this is the perfect platform for the North East to showcase its investment potential and our achievements to date.

The North East was recently recognised as one of the UK’s fastest growing places to invest for maximum return on investment. Currently the North East has an investment pipeline of £1.5billion and several projects in development that will contribute to the transformation.

Rob Charlton is excited about the opportunities this event will bring, he comments: “We all know that the North East has a lot to offer. It’s a place that shapes the future as most of our knowledge led industry sectors outpace other UK regions for growth. We have just been named a leading smart city and ranked as a top 10 tech hub. We are the home of BIM, we have amazing universities and excellent transport links via sea, road and air.”
