Team behind Chelsea’s 11 Cadogan Gardens hotel to open restaurant
A new restaurant is opening near Sloane Square in Chelsea.
The team behind the borough’s 11 Cadogan Gardens hotel has confirmed plans for Hans’ Bar & Grill, an all-day eatery on Pavilion Road with a seasonal menu rooted in British produce.
The venue’s offering will also take inspiration from its namesake, Hans Sloane – the man credited with bringing cocoa to the UK – by serving chocolate desserts and hot chocolate drinks.
Hans’ Bar & Grill will have 106 covers in its restaurant, a 20-seat bar and a private dining room called The Curio with space for 16 guests.
The kitchen will be led by head chef Adam England, previously of French restaurant Le Pont de la Tour. Simon Smith, appointed restaurant general manager, previously worked for Berners Tavern and Hakkasan.
Adam England said: “We are thrilled to be joining the Pavilion Road family and are proud of the heritage that our location inspires.
“I’m passionate about ingredients and fresh produce so having such great artisanal and family-run shops on our doorstep is a huge bonus for me.”
He continued: “We want Hans’ Bar & Grill to be a real neighbourhood spot – a place people feel just as comfortable popping in for a drink and a salad for lunch, or for a special occasion with friends” adds Restaurant General Manager Simon Smith.”
Hans’ Bar & Grill will be accessed from Pavillion Road but be part of 11 Cadogan Gardens.
An official launch is due this spring.
