Haines Watts expands with two trainee appointments

National accountancy firm, Haines Watts has appointed two new trainee chartered accountants to join its growing North East team.

The company’s Newcastle and Darlington offices have welcomed the new members of staff who will be working with a range of regional SMEs and not-for-profit organisations.

Fawziyah Ayub and Leo Davey have joined the firm at an exciting time following the appointment of a new Associate Partner at the firm’s Darlington office in late 2017.

Fawziyah is a graduate from Durham University with a First Class Honours degree in Accounting and Finance. Whilst at university, she completed a 3-month internship in London. She went on to work for a Financial Services company for just under a year to gain expertise in finance.

Her role as Trainee Chartered Accountant involves working with clients on a range of audit assignments and preparing year end accounts. She is currently working towards her ACA qualification.

Fawziyah said: “As a local firm, helping owner managed businesses within a national network I’m excited about the opportunities this new role brings. I’ve been made to feel very welcome from the get go so it’s an exciting opportunity for me.”

Leo has an honours degree and a Graduate Diploma in Finance Business and Accounting from Newcastle University and is also working towards his ACA qualification.

Leo said: “I’m thrilled to have joined the Haines Watts team. The company offers exceptional opportunities to learn and grow as a professional as they give you real responsibilities and support from the start. My colleagues have been so friendly and I’m learning a huge amount already.”
