North Wales and Cheshire start-up IT firm celebrates “incredible” first year in business
Deeside and Chester-based IT firm Highstream Solutions is celebrating a stellar first year in business after securing 29 clients and a coveted accreditation from US tech giant, Microsoft.
Set up from scratch by IT specialist Paul Williams to be a disruptor brand to traditional IT companies supporting SMEs in the North West and North Wales, the business has gone from zero customers when it opened its doors for the first time last March, to offering day-to-day end-user support for 11 high growth businesses across the region, among 29 clients in total.
And this week, the firm announced it has been awarded Microsoft Silver Partnership status – a highly sought after endorsement recognising the firm’s consistent capability, expertise and commitment after securing verified customer references.
The collaboration means Highstream Solutions is now able to offer bespoke service in conjunction with Microsoft software packages and cloud solutions to small and mid-market businesses in the region.
Over the year, Paul has also signed deals to become a registered partner of Dell, providing hardware directly to Highstream Solutions clients, and with German printer brand UTAX for print solutions.
Not content, Paul and the team are eyeing rapid expansion again in 2018, and are aiming to double in size over the next nine months.
“We’ve had an incredible first year in business – signing new clients and agreeing strategically important partnerships – and, now we’ve had a taste, we have some really bold ambitions for growth,” said Paul, who formerly led IT services at Chester’s Great Bear Distribution.
“We’re confident about our ability to scale our business. Big brands and SMEs in Cheshire and North Wales are coming directly to us because they’ve been failed by their existing IT provider, or they’re looking to save money by outsourcing their IT provision. And with IT being critical to the success of almost every company, it’s smart business to make sure it’s working as hard as possible.
“But also, it’s not just about the tech. Business owners and IT leaders are looking for that personal touch and a relentless focus on doing things right and providing the best advice, quickly. It’s how we’re winning new business and shaking up what is a very competitive market.”
Paul now lists Chester-based Coda Investments, Hawarden’s LCA Group, Body Perfect in Wrexham and Winsford-based Tiger Trailers among Highstream’s ever-growing client roster.
“We want to become the first name on the list for successful and growing businesses in Cheshire, Warrington, Shropshire or North Wales, when it comes to choosing the right IT support, solution and hardware provider,” Paul added. “We know that won’t happen overnight, but we’re confident people are going to be hearing a lot more about us in 2018!”
