Barratt Developments Yorkshire West kicks off fundraising for KidsOut at gala event
Following a successful Christmas campaign for the charity KidsOut, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, which includes the Barratt and David Wilson Homes brands, is kicking off the year in style, supporting the charity’s annual Leeds event at Elland Road on Thursday 22nd March.
The event is already sold out with over 80 tables made up of key companies from the Yorkshire business sector. The money raised from the evening will support KidsOut, providing fun and positive experiences for children throughout the UK who are living in refuge, economic hardship or with other acute disadvantages.
Guests can look forward to an evening of entertainment and some healthy competition at the glamorous black tie event, with over 800 people taking part in a fully interactive sports quiz based on the popular TV show, a Question of Sport. Between courses of the gourmet meal, guests will participate in a range of quiz rounds which includes “Higher and lower” and “Bingo”
Ian Ruthven, Managing Director at Barratt Developments’ Yorkshire West Division, and chair of the KidsOut Leeds committee commented: “KidsOut is a wonderful charity and we’re thrilled to be supporting them again this year. Disadvantaged children in the Yorkshire region really benefit from the charity’s hard work, so I feel very proud to be a part of such a worthy cause.
“As always, the annual sporting gala event is set to be a brilliant night with a friendly but competitive atmosphere! We’re looking forward to seeing other local businesses there, some of which have been supporters of the event since it started 7 years ago.
Gordon Moulds CBE, Chief Executive at KidsOut, commented: “We hold a number of these spectacular events up and down the country but none are as successful in terms of numbers attending and funds raised. We are so grateful to Ian, Barratt and David Wilson Homes and the Leeds Committee for all their sterling support again. Attendance has been brilliant at all the events over the last year, but with 870 attendees at Leeds we are in for a fantastic evening!
Last year we raised an incredible record-breaking total of £111,098, which went towards helping hundreds of disadvantaged children across Yorkshire; we’re really hoping to top that this year!“
