It Will Be Mudder For Four Intrepid Treske Employees
Four intrepid employees of leading Yorkshire furniture manufacturers Treske of Thirsk are tackling a series of tough physical challenges to raise money for charity.
Ben Ambler, Josh Duncan, John Gabler and Martyn Nelson are taking part in three gruelling events, Yorkshire Warrior, Total Warrior and Tough Mudder, over the next five months in aid of Cancer Research. They will be joined for the ultimate Tough Mudder event by Treske kitchen and furniture designers Beth Elson and John Gabler.
Josh explained: “These events will test all of us to the limit as they are not for the faint-hearted. Yorkshire Warrior is the first up, at Ripley Castle, in April. We are all in training already, as we know we will need to be at our fittest.”
The Yorkshire Warrior event is followed by Total Warrior at Bramham Park in June and Tough Mudder at Broughton Hall, near Skipton, in July.
“Tough Mudder, in particular, will be a massive test as it is the leading obstacle course challenge in the world. But we really believe it’s worth it, as we are raising money for such an important cause as well as fostering a good sense of team spirit at Treske.
“Cancer has touched us all. Ben’s step mother, for example, is suffering from cancer now. So we are incredibly motivated,” said Josh.
Justin Bartlett, owner and managing director of Treske, commented: “We are very proud of Ben, Josh, John and Martyn. To help them, Treske are paying half their entry fees and Foxstitch of Thirsk are providing training and running tops. We are sure the tops will make a difference as they tackle these testing obstacles course.
“It is very heartening to see such a sense of community spirit amongst our employees at Treske. Taking part in these challenges creates a sense of togetherness, both at work and outside it. Please support them if you can,” said Justin.
Ben, Josh, John and Martyn have set up a Just Giving Page. The link is: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/treske-team. Nearly £300 was raised in the first day and a half.
Support has also been received from local companies, including Fox Stich embroiderers of Thirsk and PR consultancy Robert Beaumont Associates of Minskip, near Boroughbridge.
