Buildbase launches first ‘City’ branch in Kingston

Buildbase is launching its first “City” branch in Kingston, providing a more convenient builders’ merchant offering to local tradespeople and DIYers.

Opening its doors to customers today (19 March) on Richmond Road, building, plumbing and electrical materials as well as hire and plant equipment will be available under one roof.

The 4,700-square-foot site will offer Electricbase, Hirebase and kitchen and bathroom showroom ‘one-stop-shop’ pods within the Buildbase site.

More than 1,500 key product lines will be stocked including aggregates and cement, timber, sheet materials, metal work, hand tools, drainage and protective equipment. Customers will also be able to order from the full Buildbase product range with next day delivery.

To mark the launch, Buildbase will be running special promotions on products over the next four weeks. On 20 and 27 March, Fix Radio will be at the branch handing out free butties.

The new Buildbase ‘City’ branch concept is more compact than a typical Buildbase site yet more conveniently located.

Stephen Gowing, Cluster Manager for the London region at Buildbase said: “Our new ‘City’ branches are located in urban areas, providing a convenient one-stop-shop for the trade and DIYers where they can get everything they need quickly and easily.

“They may be about half the size of a typical Buildbase, but the quality of service and product offering remains. Customers will be able to nip to the branch, grab what they need or place an order and get it delivered the next day. It’s essentially a convenience store for the trade.”
