Widnes Vikings partnership kicks off with Liverpool Airport
Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) has struck a commercial partnership with rugby league club Widnes Vikings.
The tie-up will give LJLA access to branding opportunities across the Vikings’ home ground, the Select Security Stadium in Widnes, as well as through print and digital channels.
The deal includes positioning on the Vikings’ home and away dugouts, head coach Denis Betts’ press conferences, player interviews and TV advertising within the stadium.
Paul Winfield, director of aviation development at LJLA, commented: “This is a great opportunity to support and work with our nearest Rugby League team and to highlight to supporters the great range of holidays and city breaks available direct from Liverpool, all with the added convenience of being just 20 mins away from the home of Widnes Vikings.”
Widnes Vikings’ commercial and community director, Richard Munson, said: “We are delighted to have formed this innovative partnership with Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
“The airport is an illustrious brand that is well recognised for its quality, so we are proud to welcome them to our commercial family.”
He added: “We are excited to be have this opportunity to promote the airport to the Rugby League community through our matchday, print and digital output this season.”
