North East marketing manager receives ‘highly commended recognition’ at English Women’s Awards
The Marketing Manager for Barratt Developments North East has been recognised for her work with the housebuilder at the English Women’s Awards for the North of the UK.
Becky Mortimer, 29, was nominated in the Rising Star category, and received a highly commended accolade at last night’s English Women’s awards ceremony in Manchester. The nomination and recognition is an acknowledgement and celebration of her continued achievements throughout her career in the construction industry.
Held for the first time on Monday 19th March with a black tie ceremony at Manchester’s Mercure Hotel, the awards were attended by hundreds of influential women across the North of England. Designed to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of female entrepreneurs, civil servants, charity founders and other professionals, the awards provide a platform for women in business to inspire others and share experiences, whilst also helping to raise funds for a charity partner - Smart Works.
Becky joined Barratt Developments in 2015 as Marketing Manager for the North East. Starting in a new industry with this role, Becky quickly demonstrated a strong ability to deliver tangible results in a highly competitive market and soon became the Regional Marketing Manager for the whole of Northern England, covering four regions in a maternity cover position. Her key achievements include winning the ‘Most Innovative Marketing’ award at the National Marketing Conference within her first 12 months with the business, as well as running the charity committee for Barratt North East, fundraising for Marie Curie, Tiny Lives & The Alzheimer’s society, raising circa £10,000 for each one.
Becky Mortimer, Regional Marketing Manager at Barratt Developments, commented: “It was an honour to be nominated for the award and to have been given the recognition. There were some exceptionally talented women from across the North at the ceremony last night, and to be selected to be amongst them fantastic.
I hope that my recognition will help to inspire other women in business, and also demonstrate how much opportunity and development their is for them, particularly within the construction and housebuilding industry.“
Scott Martin, Managing Director at Barratt Developments North East, commented: “Becky has been a valuable member of the team since the very beginning and the rising star recognition is very apt. At Barratt Developments we aim to invest and support our staff throughout their professional career in every area of the business, and we’re so pleased that the hard work that Becky has put in to both her own skills and the business has been recognised.”
