TV's Vanessa Feltz to host Body Positive Awards
TV FAVOURITE Vanessa Feltz is to host a brand new awards event which will celebrate larger women.
The TV and radio star will present the Body Positive Awards in association with Ashleigh Plus Size, which will be held in London this summer.
The idea is the brainchild of moneysaving expert Ashleigh Swan, best known across the UK as Ashleigh Money Saver, and will recognise the body activists and retailers who cater for those who aren’t standard sizes.
The mum-of-three rose to fame after launching her own website to post special deals and offers for people looking to save money, and as the business has grown she has developed other areas of the website, including the popular Ashleigh Plus Size section.
Following its success, the 27-year-old from Newcastle has developed the Body Positive Awards to highlight and celebrate the retailers, bloggers and social influencers who fly the flag for curvy women.
Vanessa Feltz will present the exclusive awards ceremony, which will be held at 8 Northumberland Avenue, London, in June.
“I’m delighted to be asked to present the Body Positive Awards,” she said. “It’s a great opportunity for celebrating plus size fashion, self-love and body positivity.
“I am really looking forward to being a part of the event, and to enjoy the night with a room full of stylish women.”
The awards will feature number of different categories including the best value plus size range, top swimwear and lingerie for plus size, best footwear, top new retailer and best high street, independent and online retailers.
Prizes will also be given in categories such as most engaging plus size blog, top plus size social influencer and leading body positivity campaigner.
Shoppers are being encouraged to nominate in the awards up until 4 May, with the shortlist then going to a panel of expert judges.
Anyone wanting to enter can do so by visiting www.ashleighplussize.co.uk and everyone who nominates will be entered into a draw for two tickets for the VIP event on 22 June.
