East Yorkshire accountancy firm Sowerby announces merger with Hull practise
Sowerby FRS, the East Yorkshire accountancy firm, has announced a merger with Hull-based accountants A MacDonald and Co.
The move has been designed to facilitate further growth at Sowerby, which now has five partners, employs 42 staff and last year opened a new office in Goole.
Founded in 1933, A MacDonald and Co is based on Parliament Street in Hull.
The merger will see the firm operate out of offices in Beverley, Hornsea and Goole.
Richard Skewis, partner at Sowerby, said: “It’s an exciting time to be at Sowerby, with the constant expansion of our client-base and workforce.
“This merger with A MacDonald and Co has also given us a good opportunity to evaluate our branding – we now have a newly designed brand and website which has created a whole new look.”
Patrick Scargill, partner at A MacDonald and Co, added: “Joining forces with Sowerby makes us one of the leading practices in East Yorkshire in terms of size and geography.
“The specialities of the firm compliment each other very well and we are looking forward to further growth.”
