New £2.2m housing development granted for Northumberland village
Pegswood village in Northumberland is to receive an investment worth over £2.2m for a new residential development to meet high demand for the local area’s housing.
The exclusive development in Cookswell Mews, Pegswood, will offer a variety of 13 properties including large family homes and bungalows.
Emerging local development firm, Leadgates Developments, is constructing the properties.
Director, Frazer Thompson, said: “Pegswood is a fantastic and desirable village in Northumberland, so we were delighted to have the opportunity to create a small and exclusive development of high quality new homes for local people in the area.
“We were conscious that there is high demand for housing for older people in the area, and therefore wanted to create more opportunities for those over 65, which is why we included bungalows within Cookswell Mews.”
Demand for accommodation for older people continues to grow in the region, as the government published statistics detailing that, by 2037, over a third of all households are expected to be for those over 65.
Director of Bradley Hall’s estate agency, Matt Hoy, added: “Frazer and the team at Leadgates Developments have responded to the needs of the surrounding communities, creating high quality properties to meet a range of requirements.
“Cookswell Mews will be a fantastic, small community of families and older people within Northumberland. We were delighted to be appointed to market these outstanding new homes in an area which is experiencing high demand for such properties.”
