New events space set to be launched at Hull's £6m K2 development
A 3,000 sq ft events space is set to open at K2, Hull city centre’s new £6m multi-functional living and workspace complex.
Located on the 12th floor, Icarus Lounge will give guests 360 degree panoramic views across the city to Spurn Point and over the Humber to Lincolnshire.
The events space, along with the 2,000 sq ft Sky Garden rooftop, will be available to hire for corporate events, wedding receptions and private functions.
The Icarus Lounge concept is a joint venture between Tradepark Ltd, which is developing K2 in Bond Street, and corporate hospitality specialist Saunts.
Plans for the space have been approved, with the space expected to be ready in May.
Mark Butters, director at Tradepark Ltd, commented: “Icarus Lounge will bring something really unique to Hull. So many of the UK’s cities have rooftop bars and skyline spaces for events.
“We felt this was something we needed here in East Yorkshire and will add another dimension to K2. We are delighted to be working with Saunts on this element of the project.
“As one of the region’s leading catering and events specialists, they have the experience and expertise to make Icarus Lounge a success.”
Lesley Mercer, managing director of Saunts, added: “All of us at Saunts are absolutely thrilled to be part of this exciting project. A facility like K2 and Icarus Lounge has been a long time coming.
“Hull has been crying out for high-end event and party facilities for far too long. We are really looking forward to working with the K2 team and ensuring that Icarus Lounge delivers everything it promises.”
