Software engineers relocate to Grade II-listed Northern Quarter property
Software engineering firm Codethink is establishing a new base in central Manchester.
The company signed up for 15,089 sq ft across the third and fourth floors of 35 Dale Street on a 10-year lease.
According to developer Helical plc, which acquired the building three years ago, Codethink’s move represents the biggest property deal in the Northern Quarter since 2015.
Paul Sherwood, chief exec of Codethink, said: “35 Dale Street is the perfect building for Codethink; it supports our growing team and provides fantastic infrastructure facilities.
“We want to be in a place which reflects our company culture in the heart of the Northern Quarter.”
Following its acquisition of 35 Dale Street, Helical plc undertook an 18-month revamp of the Grade II-listed building to create Grade A workspace and remodel the communal areas.
Helical plc asset management executive Will Parry commented: “We’re delighted to have Codethink join us at 35 Dale Street.
“More and more businesses are seeking a higher standard in the quality of their workspace within the Northern Quarter and 35 Dale Street is perfectly placed to meet their requirements.”
Property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) advised Helical on the transaction.
LSH is a joint letting agent on 35 Dale Street with Savills.
