Goal! Barratt Developments Yorkshire West celebrates success of KidsOut fundraising event

Staff from Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, alongside other local businesses, attended a black tie evening of entertainment, competition and networking at Leeds’ Elland Road on Thursday 22nd March. 870 people attended and raised a fantastic £110,000 for the charity KidsOut to help disadvantaged children across the region.

The special event, hosted by football legend Kevin Keegan, inspired friendly competition as it was based on the popular TV show, A Question of Sport, with a fully interactive quiz taking place after a champagne reception and a gourmet meal. Between courses, guests participated in a range of quiz rounds including “What Happened Next?” and “Guess the Mystery Sportsperson”.

KidsOut is a charity focused on giving disadvantaged children positive experiences they might not usually have access to. The money raised will go towards providing new toys and day trips for children across Leeds who have escaped domestic violence and sought sanctuary in a Women’s Aid Refuge.

Ian Ruthven, Managing Director at Barratt Developments’ Yorkshire West Division and chair of the KidsOut Leeds committee commented: “KidsOut is a wonderful charity providing much-needed support to young people across the region, we always take great pride in being part of the event at Elland Road, this year being no exception. We had a brilliant evening, but most importantly, raised an incredible amount for KidsOut which we are delighted by!”

Gordon Moulds CBE, Chief Executive at KidsOut, commented: “Our KidsOut event at Elland Road is always a great success and I’m thrilled to say the same about 2018! KidsOut really does rely on events like this to help raise awareness and funds for disadvantaged children so it’s fantastic to see so many local businesses, including Barratt Developments, helping us do that. We want to say a huge thank you to all who attended - we are overjoyed that we raised more than £110,000 to help disadvantaged children across Yorkshire.”
