Forward Role celebrates tenth birthday in style with exclusive party – and a nod to its Bolton roots!

National Marketing, Digital and IT recruiter Forward Role marked its tenth birthday in style by treating candidates and key clients including some of the country’s biggest businesses to an exclusive party at its very own in-house bar.

More than 100 clients and candidates joined staff from the Manchester-based firm as they celebrated ten years of growth with live music from former ‘Monaco’ guitarist Pete Churchman and canapés and drinks from a cocktail menu created especially for the event.

There was also a nod to Forward Role’s Bolton roots, where the company was founded before moving to the heart of Manchester in 2015, with the town’s famous Carrs pasties and Flat Cap ale.

And to make sure any extra food didn’t go to waste, Forward Role staff delivered more than 50 pasties and canapes to Manchester charity Coffee4Craig, which was holding a drop-in feed for homeless people across the city.

Established in 2008, Forward Role counts Matalan, moneysupermaket.com, sorted.com and AO.com among its growing list of national clients.

The firm saw turnover rise by 56 per cent in the last 12 months and also welcomed 14 new members of staff, taking the team to 32 and making it the largest Marketing and Digital recruiter in the North.

Founder and Managing Director Steve Thompson said: “We have been on an incredible journey over the last ten years and the party was the perfect way for us to say thank you to the suppliers, staff, clients and candidates who have helped make Forward Role the brand it is today.

“While larger corporate competitors in our space have been reducing their numbers, we’ve continued to grow and that shows the power that building a brand around service can have long term.

“The roots of the company are in Bolton so it was really important for us to recognise that with a theme to the night, and it was great that we were able to support a charity like Coffee4Craig at the same time.

“The team do an amazing job working with Manchester’s homeless community so we were delighted to be able to take over so much food to support their drop-in.”

Hendrix Lancaster set up Coffee4Craig with his wife Risha, after her brother Craig died of a heroin overdose in 2013.

He said: “As a charity we rely on the goodwill of the general public and the business community in Manchester and we are so grateful for all the support we receive from companies like Forward Role. It’s brilliant when they can see outside of profits and, in this case, turn pie charts into pies (or rather pasties) for the homeless.

“We’re incredibly proud to work in this brilliant city and on behalf of all of our guests, we’d like to say a big thank you to Steve and the team for their support.”
