Plans in for ‘state-of-the-art’ care village with bistro and gym at Wirral Waters
Peel Land & Property is bringing a ‘state-of-the-art’ dementia care village to Wirral Waters in partnership with care provider Belong.
The companies have this week (April 10) submitted plans for the facility, which deliver 34 one- and two-bedroom apartments for independent living along with six households offering 24-hour nursing and dementia care support for up to 72 residents.
Sitting at the heart of the Wirral Waters development, the village will also feature a number amenities open to the public, including a bistro, specialist gym, hair salon and function rooms.
Belong Villages chief exec Tracey Stakes said: “Wirral Waters is a thoughtfully designed and ambitious project and we are delighted that Peel have had the foresight to include state-of-the-art provision for later life within the scheme.
“Our experience has consistently demonstrated that older people thrive in vibrant, integrated communities and this promises to be a really exciting location for our tenth Belong village in the North West.”
Peel Land & Property’s director of development, Richard Mawdsley, commented: “The plans we have in place with Belong are very exciting.
“This development will be a crucial part of our housing offer at Wirral Waters and will help to create a thriving and diverse community.”
He continued: “As a society with an ageing population, this inevitably brings more complex care needs and Belong offers an incredibly vibrant, dynamic and versatile setting for residents to enjoy, whatever their needs or abilities.”
Altrincham-based Pozzoni Architecture designed the scheme.
