Cygnet Law backs Boro’s Charlie Bell in London Marathon

Redcar-based solicitor Cygnet Law has made a significant donation to support ex-Middlesbrough player Charlie Bell in the London Marathon.

The firm, which regularly supports both local and national charities, has donated £100 to Charlie, who will be running in his eighth marathon on 22 April in aid of the charity Prostate Cancer UK.

The 59-year-old former footballer and police officer started running marathons six years ago. He regularly raises money for Saltburn Golf Club’s captain’s charity by running marathons, having previously raised money for good causes including the South Cleveland Heart Fund.

Stacey Phoenix, a solicitor at Cygnet Law, said: “Charlie has been a friend of the firm for a while, and we’re always delighted to sponsor him in his marathons. Prostate Cancer UK is a fantastic charity, and we fully support the excellent research and awareness work we do.

“Cygnet Law is committed to helping local people, through the legal work we do and through charitable contributions. We love having the opportunity to help fundraisers in the community.

“The team would like to wish Charlie the very best of luck in the London Marathon.”

Charlie Bell said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Cygnet Law for its kind donation. The firm has supported me in my fundraising before, when I ran the Barcelona marathon in 2014, and it is great to have this support once again. I hope that my sponsorship for the London Marathon will make a significant contribution to Saltburn Golf Club’s charitable donation this year.”
