Kent community awards open for 2018 entries

The Kent community-focused Perrys Exceptional Awards have opened for 2018 entries and are welcoming nominations in four separate categories for businesses, charities and individuals.

Launched in 2016, the awards have quickly become a much-anticipated fixture in the Kent calendar, recognising the unsung heroes who make a difference in communities across the county.

Completely free to enter and attend, the awards are organised by Kent-based chartered accountants Perrys, with the aim of bringing together truly inspirational people in a collective spirit of endeavour and celebration. Last years winners included Carl Lewis from Tonbridge, Green Farm Kent in Shadoxhurst, Fudge Kitchen in Canterbury and the sign language charity, More Than Words also in Tonbridge.

With just four categories, being shortlisted for an award is a symbol of pride and distinction for all those nominees who make it through to the finals and get to attend the glittering ceremony, which is hosted at Leeds Castle, the historic Kent landmark near Maidstone.

This year’s categories are: • Perrys Exceptional Charity Award • Perrys Exceptional Business Award • Perrys Exceptional Business Community Initiative Award • Perrys Exceptional Individual Award

Stewart Pope, CEO at Perrys, said:

“The Perrys Exceptional Awards have become a highlight of our year. In an unsettling world, it’s truly heartwarming to know that there are so many businesses, charities and individuals striving to make their communities a better place.

“We are so pleased to be hosting the awards for a third year, and very much look forward to reading the nominations in the coming months.”

Nominations for the free-to-enter awards are open now and will close on 30 June 2018. Finalists are announced in the summer and the Leeds Castle awards ceremony will be held in November.
