Chelsea’s Bluebird Café opens second eatery at White City

Chelsea’s Bluebird Café has launched a new venue at Television Centre White City, former home of the BBC.

The company’s second eatery has a year-round terrace and opens onto a piazza overlooked by the Television Centre’s iconic circular core.

It marks the first step in a wider expansion plan for Bluebird, which is looking to open further sites around the capital.

The 5,000 sq ft café will aim to establish itself as a relaxed, stylish destination in the daytime for breakfasts, elevenses, working lunches to afternoon teas. Each evening, it will turn into a restaurant and bar.

Bluebird Restaurants’ executive chef, Simon Gregory, said: “I’m incredibly excited to be a part of such an iconic redevelopment.

“The Television Centre couldn’t be a better home for the first Bluebird Café.”

He added: “We’re thrilled to have brought the very best of Bluebird’s all-day dining to the West London community.”
