£45m PRS ‘Built to Rent’ development announced for Sheffield
CODA, LIV Group and developer The Scotfield Group have unveiled plans for a new PRS (Private Rented Sector) residential development at Hoyle Street, Shalesmoor in Sheffield.
Hoyle Street will feature 490 residential units including studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments, 11 four bedroom townhouses, four commercial units totalling 6000 sq ft, new public squares and pedestrian routes, and a number of private indoor and outdoor amenity spaces for residents.
Liv Group, the national Build to Rent specialist, provided PRS advice for the development.
Designed by CODA, the development is one of Sheffield’s first major ‘Build to Rent’ developments to come forward.
The Hoyle Street development will be spread across five blocks ranging from four to 20 floors in height.
Adam Murray of CODA Planning said: “Having such a large scale PRS development planned for Sheffield shows the confidence of developers in the city as property values rise, reflecting the growing economy and the jobs growth we’re seeing across all sectors in Sheffield, particularly professional.”
Graham Bates, CEO at LIV Group, commented: “We are delighted to be advising Scotfield Group on what we see as a major residential investment opportunity for Sheffield, which is now very much on the radar for the Build to Rent Sector.”
Matt Bowker of CODA Architecture added: “Hoyle Street will be a key gateway building, which will transform the entrance to Sheffield from the north.
“The scale of this development means we’ve worked hard to preserve the character of the area, from the historic street pattern, the old buildings and furnace around the site and maintaining public access with high quality public space central to the development.”
