Hays Lancashire employees race to raise over £1,400 for Action for Children
Hays employees from offices in Lancaster, Preston and Burnley took on the Mersey tunnel 10k on Sunday 15 April in support of Action for Children, Hays charity partner.
15 employees from the Lancashire region took part in the race, many of whom had never ran before. The team have beaten their fundraising target of £1,250 for Action for Children and are continuing to drive donations above the £1,500 mark.
Daryl Hodgson, Office Manager at the Hays Lancaster Office, who organised the team, commented: “I think everyone should be extremely proud for finishing the race, it’s a huge achievement for all involved.
I am most proud of the effort that went into fundraising for Action for Children. It is fantastic to see the drive and passion to raise as much money as we possibly can, showing the commitment and work ethic our Hays Lancashire and Cumbria businesses have, both in and outside of the workplace.“
Victoria Parry, Senior Corporate Fundraiser at Action for Children commented: “We are incredibly grateful to Hays colleagues for their kind and generous support. The funds raised will enable Action for Children to run a crucially important employability programme for some of the most disadvantaged young people in the UK, supporting our ambition to ensure that any child who needs help gets help.”
As part of the charity partnership, staff from Hays offices across the country will undertake a number of fundraising activities throughout the next twelve months to fund an employability programme for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds struggling to get their foot on the work ladder.
