The Regenda Group scoops civic award
A development scheme in Macclesfield has been recognised by the Macclesfield Civic Society.
The scheme of seven shared ownership homes and eight flats for affordable rent on Green Street was designed by John McCall Architects and developed by Chrome Services on behalf of The Regenda Group.
Nominated by the public for its high quality design and build, the development will now receive a plaque to be displayed on one of the buildings.
Previously a depot site, the design drew inspiration from the traditional style terraced housing found in Macclesfield, including the incorporation of chimney light wells.
The £1.76m scheme also used made use of materials used across the local townscape, such as red brick.
Martin Davies, Director of Development at The Regenda Group, said: “I am delighted that we have been recognised by the general public for our work on this scheme.
“The Green Street development shows how focus on design quality on new build projects can add to a local townscape rather than take away and we have worked hard with our partners to deliver this scheme.
“Importantly, we have also delivered much needed affordable housing options in the area both for renters and home owners.”
