Barclays to offer free student tickets to Camp Digital 2018
Students across the North West can get their hands on 75 free tickets to Camp Digital next month, through the event’s ‘Rising Stars’ initiative, sponsored by Barclays.
Organised by digital user experience (UX) agency, Sigma, the annual event is set to welcome 450 guests to the Royal Exchange Theatre on Wednesday 2nd May, to discuss the latest trends in digital, design, and UX.
‘Rising Stars’ will see Barclays sponsor 75 student tickets, all of which are being offered to creative, digital and tech students in the region. The initiative will cover the Universities of Manchester, Salford and Central Lancashire, as well as Manchester Metropolitan University and the student member base of Manchester Digital. The aim is to enable young people to attend the event, make valuable contacts and engage with issues currently affecting the industry.
Paul Smyth, head of digital accessibility at Barclays, said: “Camp Digital has grown in reach and impact over recent years and we’re really proud to be supporting the next generation of tech and digital stars who will undoubtedly have a big impact in the future. The event provides a great opportunity for both students and industry leaders to discover more about a broad range of accessibility and inclusive design topics – so it’s definitely something we were keen to be involved with.”
Shaun Gomm, host at Camp Digital and commercial director at Sigma, said: “The digital skills gap continues to be one of our industry’s most pressing issues across the North West, so it’s great to see that big industry players like Barclays are so invested in helping to create and foster strong relationships with emerging talent.”
