Businesses offered chance to get unique insight into economic climate from expert
An economic expert will give his thoughts on the continually changing economic and political environment, and on what this may mean for businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire.
HSBC’s Head of Economics, Mark Berrisford-Smith, will lead a joint economic outlook seminar between the Bank and leading Midlands’ law firm Wright Hassall.
Business owners attending can hear more about how to tackle the barriers to growth and other challenges they may face over the next year. The breakfast event will be held at Wright Hassall’s Leamington offices at Olympus Avenue from 8am on April 26th.
It will mark the third annual instalment of the event, which has attracted hundreds of representatives from the business community since it started.
Chris Jones, partner in the newly formed Banking & Project Finance team at Wright Hassall, said: “We remain in a time of significant economic and political turbulence, and leaders of businesses of all sizes must continue to adapt to the ever-changing landscape.
“A lot can change in a year and Mark Berrisford-Smith will lead this year’s discussion exploring the current state of the UK and global economies and the challenges that British businesses face over the year ahead.
“The uncertainties surrounding Brexit and its implications are still very much present and businesses are having to adapt their present and future plans on virtually a rolling basis. “This has always proved a very popular event thanks to the high quality of our speaker.”
Ian Coulson, Area Director for HSBC Business Banking in Coventry and Warwickshire said: “We continue to work closely with our clients as they navigate their way through the changing economic and political climate.
“Mark is able to interpret a wide range of issues, providing our businesses with the practical advice they need to develop their strategies and move their business forward”.
Mark Berrisford-Smith is a regular speaker at conferences, seminars and other events organised or sponsored by HSBC around the country.
He is also responsible for advising the Bank in the UK and its business customers on developments in the British and global economies and takes a particular interest in monitoring the performance of European countries, and also China.
