Seddon appointed to WM Housing framework
The UK’s largest privately-owned contractor, Seddon, has been appointed to WM Housing Group’s new-build development framework in an ambitious deal.
The new partnership with one of the largest housing groups in the West Midlands follows a rigorous tender and selection process in late 2017.
The £75 million procurement framework will operate for five years with the option to extend for a further period.
It was instigated in response to the government’s challenge to provide more high quality new homes. WM Housing has increased its delivery programme by over 60 per cent a year – meaning it will build more than 500 new homes annually, instead of 300.
Duncan Williams, Regional Director at Seddon said: “We’re delighted that Seddon has been appointed to the WM Housing development framework and that our reputation in this sector and region have been recognised through this valuable partnership.
“Our continued success in the Midlands is bolstered by this appointment and we are confident the partnership will support our commitment to creating a sustainable business which will bring growth, employment and quality housing to the region.
“We look forward to continuing collaboration with WM Housing for many years to come.” Richard Whittaker, Director of Development for WM Housing said, “We have ambitious plans to grow our development pipeline and our commitment to delivering social value through our contracts.
“We are excited about the future and look forward to developing a long-term partnership with Seddon.”
The framework will bring significant social, economic and living benefits to residents as well as major local investment.
