Adventure Dock secures funding to skill up staff for Liverpool’s newest attraction
Liverpool’s upcoming summer attraction, The Adventure Dock Co, has secured nearly £4,000 in funding to help deliver bespoke training for their brand-new team ahead of the grand opening next month (May 5).
Having successfully recruited a team of 15 that will manage the 92-metre floating obstacle course at Duke’s Dock - in between Albert Dock and King’s Dock (home to ACC Liverpool and the Wheel of Liverpool) - the water sports specialists will use the money - granted by the Employment and Skills Team at Liverpool City Region Combined Authority - to further train staff in customer service skills, handling complaints and knowledge about Liverpool tourism, to enhance the overall visitor experience.
All team members have previous water experience and qualifications including the pool/beach lifeguard qualification (NPLQ/NBLQ), first aid training and safeguarding certificate.
Tim Woodhead, creator of The Adventure Dock, said:
“Having secured the funding to help provide extra training for our new recruits is amazing and we are very grateful to the Employment and Skills Team for their support.
“We were looking for enthusiastic individuals to help us open Adventure Dock next month and we are over the moon to have some great people now on board. Finding people with the quite niche qualifications can be very difficult but Liverpool is teaming with talent and we easily found some strong candidates that will be joining us as team leaders and aqua guides this month.
“As a company we believe it is important to invest in people and we want the whole team working together to help visitors to Adventure Dock make some real memories this summer. We are now working with them to make sure they are fully ready for a very fun and action-packed summer!”
The Adventure Dock team will now undertake three days of training with local trainer Katy Moussaada, of Katy Moussaada Training.
Katy Moussaada, trainer at Motivation Through Training added:
“Adventure Dock will be offering a unique experience for visitors to Liverpool this summer and I have no doubt that both their team and guests will have a lot of fun. It is great to see that the team are so invested in getting the best ever experience for their visitors and really understanding what Liverpool can offer. I will be working with the team to make sure they are ready for everything that the summer can throw at them.”
