Housebuilder announces The Tiny Lives Trust in Newcastle as Charity of the Year for 2018
Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments North East, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has announced it will be supporting Newcastle-based charity The Tiny Lives Trust throughout 2018.
Barratt Developments North East employees will take part in fundraising initiatives across the region to help raise vital funds for the charity throughout the year.
The Tiny Lives Trust works to help care for premature and sick newborn babies, their mothers and families on the Neonatal Unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. The fund aims to provide the highest quality of care on an on-going basis and needs to raise at least £250,000 every year to support a range of facilities, staff and equipment.
The five star housebuilder, currently building at a range of developments across the region, including its Five Acres development in Barnard Castle and Jubilee Gardens development in Stockton-on-Tees, will be raising money through a range of fundraising activities, including bake sales and charity fun days. During 2017, Barratt Developments raised over £8,500 for its chosen charity the Alzheimer’s Society.
Louise Carroll, Community and Events Fundraiser at Tiny Lives, commented: “We’re delighted that Barratt Developments have chosen us as their charity of the year. We’re also really grateful for the support and the funds raised which will really make a difference, enabling us to continue to help care for the families on the Neonatal Unit who need us.”
Scott Martin, Managing Director of Barratt Developments North East, commented: “The Tiny Lives Trust makes a huge difference to many people and their families across our region, and we are proud to support such a worthy cause. Our employees are brilliant at taking part in charity activities and we are looking forward to all of the fundraising events planned throughout the year to help support such a wonderful local charity.”
