'Ambitious' plans to develop £55m TeesAMP park submitted
Plans to develop the £55m TeesAMP advanced manufacturing park have been submitted to Middlesbrough Council.
Developers of TeesAMP - which will bring forward-thinking businesses and up to 1,000 jobs to the Tees Valley - have submitted plans for the 11-hectare site.
The first phase of development includes 180,000 sq ft of high quality manufacturing and office accommodation across 17 buildings.
The plans will be considered this month by Middlesbrough Council Planning and Development Committee.
Geoff Hogg, managing director of site owners, Cleveland Property Developments, said: “This is another exciting step in the formation of TeesAMP - a location of national and international significance.
“Once planning is secured we will begin the initial construction phase that is due to be completed in Spring 2019.
“We are already in discussion with a number of companies about accommodation - and there will be several exciting announcements to come in the following weeks.”
TeesAMP is the result of a partnership between Cleveland Property Developments, Middlesbrough Council and Tees Valley Combined Authority.
Middlesbrough Council has provided £12.5m investment for the project while Tees Valley Combined Authority has provided £7.6m.
The site is already home to TWI’s £10.8m base, now home to the UK’s first Offshore Wind Validation Centre delivering research and validation services for offshore wind tower manufacturers, as well as for the oil and gas, subsea and other industrial sectors.
Alison Fellows, investment director at Tees Valley Combined Authority, added: “Tees Valley Combined Authority is pleased to be able to invest £7.65m in supporting the delivery of TeesAMP.
“This will be a transformational project, attracting significant investment from forward-thinking, exciting businesses and bringing new jobs to the area.”
