Barnsley retailers celebrate Alhambra Shop Awards
The Alhambra Shopping Centre hosted its Retailer Awards last week to give praise to the shops on offer for Barnsley residents.
The entire centre was invited to enter and nominate across seven award categories that included: • Best Retail Presentation • Best Involvement in Marketing Initiatives • Health & Safety • Shopper Award • Best Large Store • Best Medium Store • Best Small Store.
The glitzy award ceremony was hosted by the Alhambra Management Team at The Holiday Inn, Barnsley last Thursday 12th April and saw over 100 people attend from all Alhambra based retailers.
Steph Higham, Alhambra Centre Marketing Manager said: “We were delighted with the number of nominations from retailers and for the number of people that attended the awards ceremony. It was a hugely successful and popular night which allowed us to show appreciation to our loyal retailers.”
The hotly anticipated award category of the night was the Shopper Award, all retailers wanted to win this one as it was voted for by Barnsley residents – with more than 400 people taking to Social Media and voting in person, in the centre.
Primark was the lucky winner, with a landslide victory with The Entertainer, Massarella’s, Shoe Zone, TK Maxx, Greenwoods and Hot Jacks also scooping awards.
Steph concludes: “Well done to all that were nominated and reached the shortlists in their retrospective award categories, and massive congratulations to all our award winners!
“We are already looking to next year’s awards to make them even bigger and better.”
