Mark Wahlberg teams up with Restaurant Property for new Covent Garden eatery
Leisure property specialist Restaurant Property is helping actor Mark Wahlberg bring his burger restaurant chain to the UK.
Mark, who co-owns the Wahlburgers business with his brothers Paul and Donnie, appointed Restaurant Property as the sole agent for the company’s first site in London.
Wahlburgers will launch later this year at 8-9 James Street in Covent Garden.
The building, leased from Capital & Counties Properties plc, comprises 1,859 sq ft at ground level and a 4,352 sq ft basement.
The chain currently operates across 22 US cities and stars in its own behind-the-scenes reality TV show, Wahlburgers.
Mark Wahlberg said: “I am delighted to announce that Wahlburgers is coming to the UK and we have the best possible location, one of the most visited areas in all of the world – Covent Garden.”
David Rawlinson, founding director of Restaurant Property, commented: “We are delighted that we have been able to help the Wahlbergs secure their first London site in such a prime location.
“Covent Garden is packed with shoppers, theatre-goers and tourists year round, so it’s the perfect home for Wahlburgers and we’re sure it will be a tremendous success.”
Wahlburgers Covent Garden will open this September.
